Replaced some solar landscape lights that we had for several years. The batteries get weak over the years on the solar ones, and the solar panel covers get faded, so they don't light up like they did when new.These old-school lights are a lot more work to install, since you have to route and bury wire, and purchase a sufficiently large power supply to power them. But they stay on all night (I have a dusk-to-dawn sensor on the 110VAC circuit that supplies them), and they are all the same relative brightness ALL of the time.I dinged them a star for the "spike" that's included to secure them in the ground. I used 1/2" copper pipe instead, driven about 16"-18" into the ground, The lights will slide right over the copper pipe, with enough room to route the power wire between the two tubes/pipes.I also changed the bulbs out for "warm" color LED bulbs that I bought on another site. You can guess which one. Easy mod that will reduce power consumption greatly, as well as make the lights last much longer. It also reduces the size requirement for your 12VDC power supply.

Very nice light just the connections to the main power wires little flimsy.

The 4th of july. Guess someone shot it in the air a few streets over and it landed here. could be space junk but i'm going with the bullet. it was moving so fast the rest of the light was still upright normally. it never moved. those of you that have installed these know how easy the stakes break. I had just put them in the day before. was standing in the same place.Anyway. they are metal. I had had a suspicion the tops were hard plastic. i scraped around on the broken one to show the metal. also I replaced mine with led lights with the pins G4. The 3 watt 20-30 watt eq was too bright for me. so I also got the 1.5 watt 10-20 watt eq in warm white. its closer to 10 watt eq and there are several variations (brightness and color of light). And 14 g wire. thats such a tiny amount of light energy compared to a 60 watt incandesent bulb.The lights work and look great. easy to wire with the newer screw type conector. it took many years for someone to come up with those. the connecters were terrible before. It was very difficult getting the connectors to attach. I had to use pliers to squeeze them. The bulbs are not bright, but I knew that when I bought them so changed out. Overall, it met my expectations.

These lights are a good value and have replaceable bulbs, which I strongly prefer. The shade completely covers the bulb so that no light is visible from the side. Consequently, light is cast only on the ground in a 4 foot diameter. That type of subtle look might be suitable for some customers who only want to light a walkway, but the light is too dim for my preference, even when used with a 150 lumen LED bulb.

You would think Malibu have learned a better way of doing connectors after all the years that they’ve pioneered landscaping lights. Also why not LED. Overall I’m happy with the purchase even though I have to replace the lamps with LED.

I needed about 30 lights to light up a long pathway around the house and patio, so this was very good value. I replaced the halogen bulbs with LED ones. All the important parts are made with durable metal, the bulb holder is ceramic, which is replaceable with off the shelf component. The exception is the stake which is made of plastic and not strong enough. The stake can't be pounded into hard dirt without damaging it, it is best to dig a hole and compact the dirt after lamp placement. I had one stake break, but I made a replacement out of copper tubing and coupling.

Easy to assemble hard to connect to get power, lights are super dim, I have to putchase new led bulbs just to see it shine as it should.
