It sort of works, better off spending a few more ofr the real thing
I bought this as i thought it was a good value since you get the cartridge puller with it. First off YES YOU NEED A CARTRIDGE PULLER. I promise you that sucker is not coming out with pliers. I eventually wound up uninstalling this a few days later to install the Moen OEM 1222 instead and I still couldn't get it out with pliers, needed the puller-although it did come out much easier. Anyway back to the Pro Parts cartridge. This thing will work ok. The other reviews about it having a lower flow rate if you turnt he handle all the way hot or all the way cold are correct. You need to be using some combination of both hot and cold water for this to give you full pressure. This probably doesn't matter if you using this with a low flow shower head. I doubt you'd notice the pressure drop. If using a standard head or a tub faucet youll notice. It feels slightly lighter weight and less heavy duty than the Moen OEM. It also does not thave the second set of slots at the top and bottom which is probably why the flow rate is lower. The cartridge puller works fine but its kind of crappy. The nut is made of plastic and will deform and wear away if your trying to pull out one that's really stuck (and mine was!). This works ok, but for a few dollars more you can get the real thing that works great. Get an OEM cartriage and a full metal puller.

Initial review - Easy to install and functions like a dream
Even though there are plenty of negative reviews, I decided to try it anyway. A comparable part would be the Ace Hardware brand one from a pricing stand point but my local Ace was out of stock and wasn't going to be getting one in the next week. From an install perspective it was simple. The cartridge puller screwed into the cartridge and I was able to pull it out with no issues. I also used it to assist in the re-install. It is plastic so if there is an issue with the old cartridge being "locked" I could see the puller breaking. The cartridge itself looks identical to the factory Moen one I removed. I used the included grease on all the gasket parts and installed it, put everything back together and found that it turns better/easier now than the handle did brand new from the factory. As far as longevity it has only been a week so will updated going forward once it has been in use for a while.

Very tight fit - but works
The puller tool worked fine. The replacement cartridge went in and seated fine - except I had a heck of a time getting the retaining clip back in. Seems the tolerances on this replacement cartridge are just a bit different. There was absolutely no way I could get the retaining clip that came with it to go all the way in the slot as it was slightly thicker. Using the original clip worked but I had to really push hard on the cartridge and the base of the clips to get them to go down in the lower slot. 4 stars overall just because of the fit. But it worked and the price was right and I'm happy.Oh, one extra thing, the description of the package contents did not mention it includes the lubricant for the rubber seals. I bought a tube separately and then found I didn't need to.

Best value replacement cartridge
I've already used these on two of my showers and I bought this again for my third bath. It's an easy replacement and there are several "how-to" videos on YouTube. Some pointers: When you remove the OLD one, take note of the orientation of the ports so you you don't install it upside down (reverse Hot and Cold inlets). Don't forget to clean out any 'gunk' that might be in the faucet housing before you insert the new cartridge. Also: Make sure you purchase a small tube of silicone plumbing grease and grease the cartridge generously because the teeny-tiny bit of grease included is insufficient.

Cheap Junk Do Not Buy
Not a good replacement, I replaced 2 (15) year old Moen Showers, one with this part one with a Moen true replacement. The removal tool is Junk the threads stripped out of the tool. The slip on plastic removal nut broke, luckily I had the Moen Plastic removal nut from the previous Job. The cartridge is roughly 1/32nd longer than the Moen, I had to trim a bit off to push it all the way on. The Retainer horse clip is not is strong and bent trying to install it. I used the older c clip from the old cartridge. I don't usually leave reviews however this is a piece of Junk, do yourself a favor pay a couple of extra bucks for something better. I probably should have removed it and thrown it a way, I have little confidence this will not leak.

Great value - bargain.
The mixing valve removal tool broke during valve removal. This being said and being fair, the valve removal was the most difficult I have ever encountered. It took a little over 3 hours and I believe it was the original shower mixing valve in a 30 year old house. The tool that broke was no match for the resistance of this valve. The new valve installed easily and is working perfectly. Overall, the valve and tool were a great bargain compared to 33.00 for just the valve at Home Depot.

Awesome kit, easy to use
So my shower valve went out, only hot water would flow. I tried to get the valve removed with a pair of pliers....would not budge. Bought this kit and valve easily came out with remover tool, less than 30 mins to complete. Confused at some of the reviewers saying that they stripped out the tool threads.......go slow and easy....don’t be a moron. Watch a few videos before doing this

Puller broke.
The screw that threads into the valve snapped off. I had to muscle the old cartridge out with channel lock pliers. I specifically bought this because I have two showers with the same valve. I should have bought the cheaper valve and the better puller.I looked for a way to contact the seller but couldn't find that option.
