Great cymbal for my mini hi-hat!
I purchased this specifically to use as the top part of my mini hi-hat and it works and sound perfectly for what I’m looking for! The bottom part of the mini hi-hat is a Wuhan 10” splash cymbal. I want to mention right off the bat that the cymbal is made from thicker metal than the average splash cymbal. It has the same thickness as the Zildjian L80 cymbals and has no give whatsoever when I tried to bend it by hand. The tone of the cymbal can be described as more bell-like tone compared to most splash cymbals. There’s no high-end sizzle but there’s definitely more of a “bell” tone than “splash” tone. You can get more “splash” tone out of it if you hit the cymbal harder but there’s still more “bell” tone. This is not a bad thing in my hi-hat combination.Arborea 10” Mute Cymbal vs. Zildjian L80 Low Volume Cymbals- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal sounds a bit louder than my Zildjian L80 14”, 16”, and 18”.- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal has more attack than Zildjian L80. The sustain is not as long as the Zildjian L80 because of the diameter.- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal has a bell-like tone with not a lot of high-end sizzle in the decay. The L80 has a coating that helps tamp down the volume and attack but it also has the high-end hiss in the overall tone.Arborea 10” Mute Cymbal vs. Wuhan 10” Splash- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal is much quieter than the Wuhan splash. If the Zildjian L80 is 80% quieter than regular cymbals, I would say the Arborea is about 50%-60% quieter.- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal is made of thicker metal that doesn’t bend easily. The Wuhan 10” splash seem to move slightly when bending by hand.- The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal sounds a bit like a bell while the Wuhan 10” splash has a bit of gong-like tone. The 10” Arborea Mute Cymbal for hi-hat use- Most folks tend to use splash cymbals as effect/auxiliary hi-hat. I was going for more of the regular hi-hat tone but in a smaller diameter. The fuller tone of the Arborea cymbal makes this sound more like a real hi-hat instead of the high-pitch and short-sustain in most splash cymbal hi-hat assemblies.- The Arborea cymbal, when used in conjunction with the Wuhan 10” splash, has a nice and succinct closed hi-hat tone without piercing high frequencies. The combination of the Arborea and Wuhan also produces a very nice open hi-hat tone as well.- The smaller diameter of both the Arborea and Wuhan cymbals makes this hi-hat combo perfect for lower volume gigs while retaining the sound and tone of full size hi-hats.Splash cymbals can widely range in tone and characteristics depending on the brand. The tone and characteristics of the Arborea 10” cymbal is different than many splash cymbals and might not be what you’re looking for. In my case, the cymbal is perfect in my hi-hat assembly. The cymbal feels well-built and would potentially last a very long time. The cymbal can be “tuned” a bit with tape. A small strip of tape underneath the logo rounds out the high-end and reduce the sustain a bit. Another small strip of tap under the “mute” label takes down the high-end and sustain a bit more, which is helpful for a trashy/effect/auxiliary hi-hat sound. I’m in the process of putting a video together of the hi-hat assembly. I’ll add another review with the video for those who might find it helpful.

Sounds great, but still loud.
It sounds great, but still very loud.I wanted to use it with my Zildjian Gen16 module, but it is too loud for everyday use. I will use it for gigs only with my Gen16. Compared to a regular cymbal, it is a lot quieter, but more than double the loudness of Gen16 cymbals and about five times louder than Zildjian L80s.

Sounds great!
I play low volume cymbals almost exclusively due to the venues I play at and the sound ordinances I have to be in compliance with. I'm VERY picky about the sound of cymbals, and this one is great. I also have a 20" Wuhan Ora that is very pleasant sounding. I play Jobeky hi hat cymbals and a few select Agean cymbals. Most of the "name brand" low volume cymbals sound like crap to me. This one is good. Use it as a ride or crash. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely Not low volume
it's definitely Not low volume. sounds as any other cymbal. That's why I gave it one star. it kinda rings, too. I ended up purchasing a cymbal mute piece of rubber. That works. I actually bought 2 different brands. neither one is muted, at all. sound just as loud as regular ones.

Great practice cymbals
I bought a used drum set with standard old hi hat cymbals that were terrible to practice with in my apartment. These are really crisp and sound great while not being so loud and shrill. Im super happy with these, I’ve paired them up with Remo SilentStroke drum heads.

Not loud enough
I bought the 16” crash cymbal and it sounds great, so I thought I’d like the splash but it’s actually too quiet. I know that’s the idea with low volume cymbals but they should at least have some musical value. I would definitely recommend buying bigger low volume cymbals.

Bright Sounding.
I bought these hi-hats for the music school I work at. I was pretty shocked on how loud they were vs. the Zildjian Low Volume hi-hats. I would spend the money and get Zildjian's. However, they are obviously quieter than a set of full on hi-hats, I am just fine them too bright.

Arborea Crash 18". Excelente relación precio calidad.
The media could not be loaded. No presentaba ningún problema.

Nice cymbal, didn't order it *edit*
I ordered a 20" ride and received the 18" crash. Now the 20" is not available (supplier overcommitted?). *edit* - I reached out to Arborea and the situation was corrected, great support on their part *end edit*. So here is a review for that cymbal:The cymbal itself is nice, pretty straight, good finish, looks high quality. Stick hits sound louder than the cymbal, which is nice for practice. There is a lot of low frequency (100hz-ish) moving through the stand and into the floor; I'd say 50% of the total sound. Timbre is nice but crash sound is slow.

Sonne un peu fort
Sonne un peu trop fort, mais le bas prix pardonne cette lacune.
