Beautifully Made. Quality all Round
I have a selection of hi end Marumi and Hoya Pro Dig and, in my opinion, the Gobe is equal to, perhaps better than the other brands. It's nicely engineered with reassuringly crisp gnurling and thin profile - as good as you'll find re vignetting on a larger filter. I don't know if anyone does DXO like testing on filters but, subjectively, It seems clearer than the Pro Hoya, I guess, with the Schott glass version, that should be the case. I do have one comparable filter, a V expensive B&W which, interestingly, also uses Schott. And then...... there's the packaging: beautifully done, with a lens cloth given with each filter. In this corporate age, for once you feel as though you're being looked after as a customer. And then, there's their ecological commitment to plant five trees for every filter you buy.......To be honest, I don't think I'll be buying other than Gobe from now on. I just hope that their inevitable popularity in time won't go to their heads and that they retain their commitment to high quality, sensible pricing, and low profile but sincere environmental policy. If you buy, you won't be disappointed

Changed packaging for Cloth of filter
I have written an extensive and very positive review before. Just got another few Filters and we found a change within the packaging of the Filter-cloth.The cloth was up to now always a bit ''squashed '' on top of the filter in the filter-box. Although probably not harmful, it still can put pressure on the glass. NEW: the filter cloth now is being delivered separately in a small, filter-box sized exterior cardboard envelope, so there is nothing in contact with the filter during transport. Good! Is more packaging, but at least this packaging is made of recycled cardboard and not plastic. The filters are still of the same top quality they have been up to now ( we order regularly since over an year and there has been no change to quality, packaging or customer service - always perfect) , we at the moment use mainly the Japan Optics 16 and the Schott Glas lenses and can see no difference to the very much more expensive filter of leading brands. Highly recommended

Not recommended for the Fuji 55-200mm lens
I have been using this filter on a Fuji 55-200mm lens on a Fuji XT2. I have been photographing cricket matches recently and was concerned about a lot of fringing around the players. I took some more test shots today with the same results. I was convinced the lens was defective but decided to take more shots with the filter removed. Result? No more fringing and much better sharpness, saturation etc. So overall, I cannot recommend this filter on the above lens. I will have to test my other Fuji X lenses which use the same filter to see whether I get similar problems. In a 2007 test, the Hoya HMC UV filter came out best and is almost half the price of this one.

Very good UV filter
I've been using Gobe products for a few years now and I can absolutely vouch for the amazing build quality and the fact that you can't tell there is a filter on. The picture quality is amazing, with no black spots or anything. I had one of these filters on whilst being on holiday, tripod wasn't properly secured and the camera fell straight onto the lens. Long story short, my lens survived with not a single scratch while the filter took all the impact. I can't recommend this product enough! Stop paying outrageous amounts for Nisi/Formatt-Hitech/Tiffen/Hoya, this product does the same job and on top of that the company is saving the planet by plating trees!

Mixed Impressions
I purchased three Gobe UV filters. The other two appear reasonable quality in that they don't flare when shooting into the sun. They aren't though on a par with some of the much more expensive filters I use. These tend to dampen the starburst effect when shooting into the sun where some of my other (much more expensive) UV filters don't. They are doing a good job of protecting my lens and other than the effect mentioned above, the image quality when used remains good, especially at the price. The reason that I'm rating the filter with three stars is that the 67mm one doesn't fit. I've tried it on three different lenses and also tried screwing it into other 67mm filters. It appears to be the correct size but it either cross threads or just doesn't screw in. I should have returned it for a replacement but have just been too busy.

Excellent 2 Peak (yes it makes a difference) UV Filter...worth the extra pennies
This is the second UV filter I have invested in for this particular lens (Tamron 24-70) and it’s worth every penny. I originally bought the Amazon Basics 82mm filter as I had one of a previous lens and it seemed excellent quality, however the one that arrived seemed much less durable and made more cheaply. When I took outdoor images I got lots of sun spots in my images (never had an issue on previous lens with amazon basics) so invested in this Gobe 82mm UV 2 Peak instead and this is excellent.Made really well, has a nice quality weight feel to it. Doesn’t affect sharpness of images or colour quality. Does exactly what you expect it to. It’s worth spending the extra on a good UV filter to go on your expensive glass as the cheap versions are just not good enough.

Nice quality, great metal tin storage case, value for money.
I've always used Hoya filters for about 30 years now. That is until I discovered these little gems. I've a couple of these now. This UV filter and I've had a variable ND from them. They're great and I have no hesitation in buying Gobe over Hoya now. Better value for money, come in a lovely little metal tin with a screw on lid so you can store it safely away if not using it. Really good products from a brand that actively takes actions to help the environment by planting trees when you purchase their products. You get a code to register and then they will plant your trees for you. Highly recommended guys.
