The Klein ET310 Is My Go Too!
The Klein ET310 Circuit Breaker Finder is a great tool to help in locating the right circuit breaker. I plan to use around my home and help my friends to locate the right circuit breaker. I used it today, and it easy to use and found my breaker quickly. It is a time saver and it will help you get the job done. I like the light weight design and the transmitter doubles as a circuit tester to ensure that your wiring is correct. It is designed very well and light weight and has an intuitive instruction manual. This is a great device and I highly recommend it!

Valuable Tool for DIY Homeowner
I ordered this tester because it seemed like something that I should have in my "tool arsenal". I tried it as soon as I got it so that I knew that it worked and so that I would know how to use it when I needed it.Circuit Breaker Finder - Worked like a charm! I plugged the "sending unit" into an outlet and then headed for the breaker panel. Using the tester I followed the directions and slowly passed it over all of the breakers once and then repeated it. As you get close to the right breaker - it will start to chirp a bit and when you are on it, you get the tone and the red light and the flashing green - can't miss it! I then flipped that breaker and went back to the outlet I was testing and it was the correct breaker.Sending Unit/Outlet Tester - This is handy in that it shows you if the outlet is wired property (and it was) and I like the GFCI tester function. I tested several of the outlets in my kitchen that should be on a GFCI circuit and when tested, did trip the GFCI outlet that was controlling them.Everything works, it was easy to use, and it makes testing and working on your home/farm wiring really easy. 5 Stars and I would buy it again for sure.

Worth it
I debated on getting just the plug detector, but i figured I'd spend some money and get the kit with breaker detector & accessories (no pouch/bag). I've used this for checking a main panel swap and it paid for itself in finding a single outlet that was wired wrong and causing a network switch to not operate: after restoring power, there was no wired internet due to the network switch getting bad voltage. I can't even imagine having to find that problem with just my volt meter. 100% worth the electrician-skill-game enhancer. The breaker detector was easy enough to use and helps I.D. circuits where labels have faded or just don't exist. It got the correct breaker, but there was a 'maybe' with the neighboring breaker, YET it made figuring out which breaker was for the dishwasher for a replacement job easy. Before using this, it would require some investigating, tracing wires where applicable, deducing which voltage breakers (220/110), and even then we would have to take guesses sometimes and just start tripping breakers till we found the right one (or short the end of the wires together to force a trip, I know REAL safe...). Now, worst case, is you have 2 breakers that need tripped for the 1 circuit you're working on. I'm not sure how it would work if the circuit is wired wrong, i.e. if neutral and hot are reversed, etc, but the instructions say that the circuit must be wired right in the first place for the detector to work...Works for electricians of course, but as an HVAC/Plumber tech, I find it highly valuable. I think DIY'ers and homeowners could benefit for the "pricey" gear and kit from a know name brand.

Easy to use and helpful if used as inteded
Helpful quick scan/ diagnostic tool but that is all. If you rely on this you will run in beeping circles all day long. Used correctly and its definitely nice to have

Electric line tracer
I'm not an electrician, but I have to play one in my house. Electricians $$. I also live in a 1940s home, remodeled more than once before and since myself. That means mysterious electric wiring all over. So I needed this badly. Klein is one of the quality devices in line testing, and this one is up to par. It accurately reveals where a outlet leads to which circuit at your electric panel.works well, and accurately almost too sensitive so check nearby circuits several times and settle on the one by flipping that switch and then the outlet then without power. It looks a bit long, but that's because the two parts are meant to when not used. I.e., you don't lose one part.

Didnt know I needed this!
This thing is a time savor. Not mention it could be a life savor. I love the tool and how it functions. Recommend getting this one of you have a lot of plugs to replace like I did.

Must Have for Home Electrical Work
I replace my own fans, lights, and outlets. I don't do electrical work often, so when I do I often have to try 2-3 circuit breakers as the labeling is pretty bad. This lets me pinpoint the proper switch the first try. So no more fire alarms beeping or resetting clocks because I turned off the wrong breaker. Also, the piece that plugs into the wall lights up. When you shut off the correct breaker, the light goes off so you know for sure you got the right one. Still use a voltage detector to be 100% certain, but this gets you to where you feel "certain." I put that in quotes because one mistake with electricity means lights out for human beings. If those kinds of annoyances don't bother you, you don't need this. If they do or you just want an easier way to be sure you've got the correct breaker, this is a great tool set.
