We have Italian leather couches that we got for around $350 at a garage sale (he said they cost him $3000 new)....they looked pretty worn, but were otherwise in good condition. If the guy who sold them to us would have done this first, he probably could have gotten $1000 for them!I cleaned them all first according to directions and then applied the dark brown leather color balm. I waited as instructed and the buffed it. I used regular sponge to apply it since the sponge that was included broke apart pretty quickly. Then I used a leather shoe polishing brush to buff it since it was easier than a cloth.I then applied the Furniture Clinic Leather Protection Cream and again waited until it was dry (per instructions) and then buffed it with a cloth. While some color came off on the rag I used to apply the protection cream, once it was dried and I buffed with a clean dry cloth, no color came off and we haven't had any color or residue come off in the week since we did this. Because the leather was so dry, I will be applying the leather protection cream weekly for a while until it seems like it doesn't need it so often and then I'll switch to monthly or longer as suggested on the bottle.

Buy this product! We have 2 9-year old Pottery Barn leather sofas. Between 2 kids, 2 dogs, a large family, friends, etc... these sofas have seen more than their fair share of wear. I have tried leather conditioners in the past, but really hesitated with any dyes. I feared the application process would be difficult, the color would not match, etc. I accepted the fact that the leather was worn, discolored, stained, etc. Recently we were on the verge of giving them away when I decided to try the Furniture Clinic Leather Restoration Kit. I figured if we are getting rid of them, might as well try it before they go. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE RESULTS! I have only applied 1 coat (will go back in some areas for a second) & our sofas look almost NEW.I used a very liberal amount of cleaner over the 2 sofas & still have a good amount left. I did have to order a second container of the recoloring balm - as I was 1 cushion & an arm short with the initial kit. The application was super easy. Just pour the cleaner on a sponge, add a little water, get it a little sudsy & then wipe on. After I let the cushions dry for about 20 minutes, I just scooped balm onto the rag & wiped on. I didn't have to be careful of getting too much in some places or it coming out uneven. It dried quickly & evenly. I still need to get a second coat on in some areas... but am extremely happy in the way it looks so far. Saved me from getting rid of perfectly good sofas & buying new ones.Highly recommended product. Easy to use. Photos are from after only 1 application.

The proof is in the photo. At first I was intimidated to use this product but I thought to try anyway. I cannot believe the results, it's amazing! I bought this worn down bag second hand for $45! Knowing it's real leather, I gave this product a try. Now I can't believe it's like I have a brand new bag. This bag retails around $300 so I'm so excited to share what a great leather saver this product is!!! Amazed!

This made our leather sofa that has been heavily scratched by our pets look almost new again! While it can't hide a tear, it does cover all of the surface scratches. We were considering replacing the sofa, but we used this product and are happy with the results. We can get a few more years out of the sofa.

I was nervous about ordering this product, based on mixed reviews. Beyond happy I did! We purchased our leather sectional about 10 years ago, and we spent more money than I ever thought we would on a sofa. After years of sun exposure and use it had faded quite dramatically in areas as you can see in the photos. I followed the instructions and did the water test to determine whether this product would work on our leather, The water soaked in so I placed our order. I used the leather cleaner first on the entire sofa and let dry as instructed. I then used the color balm (dark brown) on all the seating areas, let dry and buffed. I added a second coat of the color balm on the more faded areas and again let dry. Then came the buffing, a lot of buffing! It was coming to life again. When I placed my order the leather conditioner (final step) was unavailable. I ended up using a product called leather honey to condition the leather it worked well to bring out the luster and offer some water resistance . You will need to use a leather conditioner following the buffing process without it the product is NOT remotely water resistant, and will wipe off if it gets wet. I would recommend trying this product if the one that comes with the kit is still unavailable . The color balm goes a long way. I ordered a second one (just in case) and did not need it, only used a little more than half the jar for the entire sectional. The color balm covered many small scratches from our cat. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! Do the water test. This product worked exceptionally well for me however I could see how things would go wrong if it was attempted to be used on something other than “true“ leather and the steps and drying times were not followed. I have noticed the areas that were especially bad/dry do seem to show small scuffs/scratches more. I will be touching these up and applying more conditioner to attempt to rehydrate the leather, it was very dry from the sun exposure. I never spend this much time on a review, but I do feel it is important with a product like this, the last thing you want is to ruin expensive leather furniture! This product brought mine back to life and I am thrilled with the results.

I have an old Pottery Barn leather sofa that sits in a South facing room and had experienced a lot of sun damage. I have tried many other products over the years, but none made much difference. I had pretty much given up when I saw a review for this product. I figured what the heck. I must say I am blown away. I wish I had taken before and after pics, but I wasn't expecting that much. It took an ugly couch and returned it to looking almost new!

I have an all natural leather sofa- it was about $2,500. It didn’t look like that, because of scratches- but now you can hardly tell. If you have real leather- not bonded, not pleather- it soaks it up and works amazingly!

Used it to perk up our very tired 14 year old leather suite. The top of the footstool had faded to tan and both sofas seats were faded. The sofa pictured was covered in countless scratches from dogs and menfolk making themselves comfortable. The product was easy to use, it does however require a bit of ‘elbow grease’. I left the product to dry for a couple of hours before buffing off and my furniture was left with a nice soft sheen with the scrapes and scratches nicely covered. I regret not taking a ‘before’ photo as the sofas were really looking scuffed and tatty. I did not expect such a good result. One pot was ample to do a large 4 seater, a 3 seater and a good size storage footstool. I don’t expect the finish to last forever but there is a little product leftover for touch ups and it has really improved the look and condition of my old suite.

It really worked! Sofa looks brand new. The medium brown matched it perfectly, so far there hasn't been any transfer of dye onto clothing. I attached a before and after of the most worn cushion. That is after just one application. I also bought the protection cream, it would have been nice if it was included in the kit as well.

Project 20 year old loved large black Radley cross body bag much used but fair amount of front fading and wear on the corners. My concern was picking the correct product. The description indicated bags and small leather goods have now discovered they may do specific bag kit. **Method: I am a fairly neat worker but it is Important to protect work surface and use gloves. I stuffed out the bag for a good surface. The water test was a little slow to absorb but after using the cleaner to remove years of protector this improved. Followed instructions getting the sponge to foam by squeezing. Small item so removed any excess foam as went along avoiding dirt drying back on bag.Careful to apply in circular motion for complete coverage. After good 10 mins buffed with a soft old clean cotton flannel which kept the white flannel provided for a final buff to ensure I had removed any excess black. I shall be careful for some time and not use with light colour clothing until I am confident.Outcome: Bag still has the aged patina of older soft used leather but now looks very presentableThe only bump is this kit does not have a protector but after enquiry the company helpfully provided specific details of the handbag kit (Product Code - B00C6XR4V2) . The further cost maybe a pause for me and I chose this kit for the black balm so…under consideration. Seems a shame not to complete the project!I am a very pleased with the overall outcome.

The preparation was followed as per the instructions provided where the leather has been thoroughly cleaned using the "ultra clean" provided and let it dry before applying the balm.After the balm application we buffer the leather however days later we've noticed that the clothes are slightly stained therefore the application is just a temporary restoration.Pictures attached before and after showing the results after the application which demonstrated that the product doesn't offer a permanent restoration.

Used this on a 3 + 2 seater, it made a some difference to the appearance but I think you would have needed to do another coat to really benefit from it, however I barely had enough coverage for the 2 sofas out of the one parcel. It was very easy to use, would have gave more stars if there had of been more to do a second coat or if black was a darker black on one application and if the protection cream was included in bundle, I didn't realise and didn't buy it so don't have a protection over it.
